2016 State Testing

Dear Jr. High Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Assessment season has arrived a bit earlier this year than it has in the past.  I am excited to see how David Anderson students will do on these new assessments.  Teachers and students alike have been preparing for these assessments all year.  I am confident we will do very well.

State testing has changed quite a bit, again, this year.  The students will be assessed in one round rather than two like last year.  These tests will be given in multiple parts to students.  These tests will begin April 6th and will conclude by April 22nd.

Currently the testing sessions have been scheduled according to the table below.  Testing will start around 8:15 am and will be over around 10:15 am each day for the morning session.  Students testing in the afternoon session will test from 11:40am to 1:50pm  Students WILL NOT be testing the entire time, but this gives us time to take a break between sessions and hand out necessary materials.

It is imperative students be in school during these test sessions. THE HIGH SCHOOL TESTS ARE REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION. Make-up tests are much more difficult to administer.  We STRONGLY encourage you to ensure perfect attendance during those time frames.  Please make sure any doctor appointments or other scheduled events do not interfere with your child’s testing schedule.  Success on these tests will be partly determined by your child’s ability to take these assessments in as similar testing conditions as his/her peers as possible.

Thank you for taking time to ensure your student’s success.  If you have any questions please feel free to call the school or email me (keith.edenfield@omeresa.net)

Sincerely,

Keith Edenfield
