Playoff Tickets

Lisbon David Anderson Jr/Sr High School’s Athletic Department is announcing that Pre-Sale tickets will be on sale Wednesday through Friday for the State Playoff football game on Saturday, November 7.  Lisbon will host Brookfield at War Memorial Stadium at 7:00 PM.  Tickets can be purchased from 9:00-3:00 at the Lisbon high school office.  The pre-sale cost is $8.00.  All tickets are $9.00 at the gate.  No passes will be accepted.

Fall Meet the Team

The Fall Meet the Team will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, for all junior high and high school fall athletes.  The parade will begin at 6:00pm at the fairgrounds followed by the program in the auditorium.  At the conclustion of the program a bonfire will be held.

Report Card Pick-Up Report Card

Report Cards will be ready for pick up in HS and JH offices beginning Friday, June 5th from 9-3!

School Happenings

The David Anderson High School homecoming festivities will go on as planned tonight and tomorrow even though classes were cancelled today. BEAT THOSE CLIPPERS, BLUE DEVILS!


Also, drama tryouts and band pictures are still being held at their regularly scheduled time.

Student Senate Attends Youth Leadership Brunch

The junior high student senate attended a youth leadership summit at the Salem Golf Club recently.  The keynote speaker was Justin Bachman who is a sophomore from Solon, OH, who created a Tolerance Fair. 

Honors Band

We are  proud to say that there will be 7 students from Lisbon Exempted Village Schools that will be participating in the Columbiana County Honors Band and Choir.  The band students had to audition to become a part of this event and concert.  They were among 100 students that audition which only 68 members were accepted.  We are proud to say that the five band students that audition will be participating.

The Ohio American Legion and its Ladies Auxiliary conduct two summer programs for high school junior students. Buckeye Boys State is held at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio June 8-15, 2014 and Girls State is held at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio June 15-21, 2014. Both programs are a “hands on” workshop in the principles and organization of Ohio government. The Lisbon delegates to both events are sponsored by American Legion Post 275 and It’s Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles, Kiwanis, Ruritan, V.F.W. Post 4111 and West Point Lady Lions. 

Jeans for Troops

On November 6th Lisbon Elementary, Junior High and High School teachers participated in "Jeans for Troops Day" which was a nationwide dress down day hosted by the GI Go Fund. This fund raiser helps soldiers and their families when they return home from deployment. The teachers raised $360 through donations to help the cause.

Fall Ohio Graduation Testing
The Ohio Graduation Tests will be administered to any junior or senior who still needs to pass the OGTs the week of October 28th. Passing the OGTs is a graduation requirement for the state of Ohio and Lisbon High School. Attendance for the Ohio Graduation Tests is mandatory. Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge

Students in grades k-8th at Lisbon Exempted Village School District are enrolled in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge.  All students who read an average of 60 minutes per week over the summer will earn a free book at the fall bookfair.  Last year the district was third in the state, this year we want to be first.  To enter your minutes, click on the logo, log on and enter enter minutes.  To find usernames and passwords, click on the grade and name of your English teacher.

District Expo

Lisbon H.S. Art Show at the Lisbon Lepper Library
There will be a Lisbon H.S. Art Show at the Lisbon Lepper Library this Fri.-Sun. March 3rd-5th. Their hours are 9am-5pm on Friday and Saturday and 12:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday. Be sure to check out some of the fabulous pieces of visual art created this school year by the high school students!
Euchre Tournament
A sophomore class Euchre Tournament is being held this Saturday April 20 @ 3 pm in the DAHS cafeteria. The cost is $10. There is no need to bring a partner, players will rotate partners throughout the tournament. There will be cash prizes based on the number of entries, a 50/50, and concessions. Proceeds will benefit the sophomore class.  We hope to see you there!!!
English Festival

Sophomore, Brittney Haynes received fourth prize in "Writing Games," and sophomore, Michael Phillips, received an Honorable Mention in "Impromptu Writing" at the YSU English Festival.


CCESC Art Exhibit Winner

Katie Chludzinski won BEST of SHOW in the 2013 Columbiana County Educational Service Center Junior High Art Exhibit for her marker drawing titled "Chicken of Mystery". Her artwork will become part of the permanent gallery at the CCESC and she received a check for $25.

Book Fair

After each book David Anderson students read, they are quizzed over materials pertaining to the novel.  The students earn points for each novel, and many students have accomplished honors for their outstanding reading.

Attention parents and students, senior class portraits will be due on Monday, February 11. A handout was distributed at the beginning of the year with photo requirements. Photos should be submitted to Miss Mottle through email or on a disc. See Miss Mottle if you need an extra copy of the requirements. Some handouts will be in the front office as well.
Veteran's Assembly Veterans Day

Lisbon David Anderson honored area veterans during a special ceremony held Friday, November 9th.  Students of the high school paid tribute and questioned veterans in attendance during the ceremony held in the school auditorium....

Star Students of the Month
We recognize good citizenship as important quality in our students and want to recognize those who exhibit the characteristics of good citizens. Good citizens work together with their classmates with a cooperative attitude. They complete their work willingly and exhibit good behavior.
JJ Patsey Memorial 5K
The Lisbon Alumni Association is sponsoring the first annual JJ Patsey Memorial 5K this Saturday Nov 10 at 11 AM.  It will start and end at David Anderson High School.  There are runner and walker divisions.  All the proceeds go into scholarship funds. An application can be downloaded here.

2012 Olympian Yearbooks FOR SALE now!
Attention all parents, students, and graduates from the DAHS Class of 2012, the 2012 Olympian Yearbooks have arrived at the high school. If you purchased a yearbook last year, please pick-up your yearbook at the main office during school hours. Anyone interested in purchasing an extra yearbook, may see Miss Mottle or Mrs. Brammer to buy one. There are only a few extra, so it is first come, first serve. Yearbooks are $70.

Mark your calendar for our Family Event the Book Fair will be open during Parent/Teacher Conferences.
All students who read 600 minutes or more and logged them into the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge will receive a free book value up to $5.00 at the bookfair.
Punt/Pass/Kick Contest Punt Pass Kick
The Lisbon Kiwanas in conjuction with the Lisbon DAHS Key Club hosted a local punt/pass/kick contest for the youth in the community with the winners moving on to the sectional competition.
WB2W Day
Lisbon David Anderson staff and students participated in WB2W day, wear blue to work day, coordinated by the Columbiana County Job and Family Services Agency to raise awareness about childhood abuse prevention.

Lisbon students recently participated in the school spelling bee.

Basketball Homecoming

The Lisbon Basketball Homecoming queen will be crowned Friday, January 17, at the Lisbon vs. United game.  In alphabetic order the candidates are:  Alexa Achberger, daughter of Denise and Troy Achberger; Jenna Dickson, daughter of Tracy Smith-Dickson; Calen Otto, daughter of Helen and Casey Otto; Carmen Phillips, daughter of Rebecca Joseph and Jamie Phillips; Alexis Summers, daughter of Stephanie and George Summers; and Paige Wyss, daughter of Tammy Glenn and Lance Wyss.  The “Luau Paradise” themed dance, sponsored by the Student Council will be held Saturday, January 18, in the auxiliary gym with Scott Henthorne as D.J.

The DAHS 8th grade science club recently made a donation to the Columbiana County Dog Pound.

On Saturday, December 10, 2011, the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League held a regional competition for 23 teams of students ages 9 – 14 at Warren G. Harding High School. This year’s theme: Food Factor. 
Senior Portraits
Senior portraits for the 2012 school year will be due to Miss Mottle by Friday, February 10th. Photographs can be submitted from any photography studio.

We will no longer be able to accept actual photographs for the yearbook because of serious issues with scanning photos printed on certain types of photo paper.

Remember that our yearbook uses quality printing, so please be advised that an amateur snapshot is not a yearbook senior portrait.
Art Club Community Service
The Art Club went to Essex in Salem recently to do a community service project.  We brought the supplies and helped them make Christmas trees for their rooms out of paper stripes and styrofoam cones.

Honor Builders' Trip
The annual honors builders’ trip was taken on May 12th thru May 14th to Washington, D.C., Annapolis, and Baltimore. Students had the privilege to visit many of the memorials in our nation’s capital including Arlington National Cemetery and the White House.
Kennywood Trip
Students in the junior high will be rewarded for good behavior throughout the school year with an end of year trip to Kennywood.
OAA Awards
Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders were rewarded for their effort on the Ohio Achievement Tests.

Substance Abuse Awareness
Congratulations to Avery Andric and Spencer Cox on winning the county Knights of Columbus “Substance Abuse Awareness” poster Contest. The Awards ceremony was held on January 28, 2011, at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center. The program included an impactful presentation by the Honorable Municipal Court Judge Mark Frost, members of the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, and Hancock County Sheriffs Canine Unit and was very well received by the students and their parents. 
Junior High Academic Challange
The junior high academic challenge team tied for 3rd place March 22, 2011, at the county Junior High Academic Challenge Tournament.
National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school level students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since their beginnings in 1921 and 1929.

Veteran's Tree
This year, the history department is sponsoring a Veteran's Tree to honor the friends and family members of students and staff who have in the past, or are currently, serving our country in our armed forces.
"Kick out Hunger" Kick Out Hunger
The student council and student senate are encouraging all to participate in the "Kick Out Hunger" Food Drive.  This is a competition between Crestview and David Anderson.

In celebration of student appreciation week, the students have been decorating doors to support the team.  The winning door will be selected as fan of the week.

A benefit pasta dinner will be held at the DAHS cafeteria in conjunction with South Range schools to aid the recovery of Lisbon athletic director, Mr. Don Feren, October 8, 2010.

The first week of October is National Bullying Prevention Week, and David Anderson will be “Kicking Off” and celebrating their bully prevention program.  We will celebrate a theme each day. Please encourage your child to participate in our fun activities.

Junior High Students Rally for OAA and Practice Tests

Classes do cheers to get everyone ready for the junior high testing this week. Rewards are available for those who pass any one part of the test and everyone is encouraged to do their best.

Cinderella & The Art Show
The high school drama department will be presenting the musical "Cinderella" on Friday and Saturday March 7th and 8th in the high school auditorium.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $8.00. (Seniors and Students $5.00)  Open seating will begin at 6:30 for the 7:00 shows. There will be a matinee show on Sunday, March 9th at 3:00.
The High School Art Show is this weekend in the auditorium lobby during Cinderella.  The show will feature artwork from this years high school Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, 3-D Art, Advanced Portfolio, and Digital Art Classes.  Artwork will be judged and ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & Honorable Mention in 10 different categories.

The 2013 Blue Devil Challenge raised over $2500 dollars to be distributed to Lisbon Families in need through out the year.  Over 250 students participated in the challenge this year...

David Anderson High School seniors Lindsey Chludzinski and Aaron Kemats have been named Commended Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional promise. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who took the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Vote for Lisbon David Anderson in this weeks Team of the Week Competition. The Blue Devils beat Columbiana 77-45 to clinch the ITCL White Division title. Austin Rutecki scored 48 points and set the program’s career scoring record (1,448 points) and Josh Liberati scored 13 points to surpass 1,000 for his career.  

Basketball Homecoming 2016

DAHS 2016 Winter Homecoming weekend takes place January 11-16, 2016. The school is looking forward to welcoming back alumni for a wonderful weekend of  social events, games, and good cheer. DAHS's Student council has also organized a series of events during the week leading up to Homecoming weekend, including "Extreme Blue & White Friday", in which students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to show their Blue Devil pride in wearing blue and white all day this coming Friday.

2015 Spring Musical and Art Show Once Upon A Mattress

Mark your calendars now to be sure to see DAHS’ production of ‘Once Upon A Mattress’.  If you thought you knew the story of the ‘Princess and the Pea’ you may be in for a walloping surprise!  Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that it wasn’t the pea that caused the princess such a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and wild, romantic and melodic, the rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans.  The cast is working feverishly to build our very own castle to transport you back to the 1400’s. Show Dates are April 17th and 18th at 7pm with a matinee performance on April 19th at 2pm.  Cost is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors and students.

Chess Tournament

The Chess Club at David Anderson Jr/ Sr High School recently held their Winter Tournament.  Chris Dantona won the tournament, with Jannik Schmidt in second place and Kaleb Pickens third place.  The Chess Club meets every Friday after school. Officers are President:  Jacob Downard, VP Chris Dantona and Sectary/Treasurer  Jamie Vaughn.

Buckeye Girl's and Boy's State

Lisbon David Anderson High School student who will serve as Buckeye Boys and Girls State delegates are Avery Andric, Josh Craig, Cody Freeland Josh Liberati, Austin Rutecki, Madison Crawford, Sara Haren, Hannah Hiscox, Brianna Pickens, and Taylor Siefke. Boys State will take place June 14-21 at Bowling Green State University and Girls State is scheduled for June 14-20 at the University of Mount Union.  Helping send the delegates are the Lisbon American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary, Lisbon Eagles, Lisbon Kiwanis, Lisbon Ruritan, Lisbon VFW, and West Point Lady Lions.

DAHS 2015-2016 Class Scheduling

Spring is upon us, as we begin the fourth quarter of the 2014-2015 school year; thus, putting us into scheduling season for the next school year.  Class meetings were held March 13th  informing students about the process of scheduling and the importance of choosing appropriate classes to meet individual student needs.  Please refer to the chart below for graduation requirements when choosing your courses for next school year.

Three Ohio high school athletic departments have been selected to receive the Annual “Award of Excellence” recognition in 2017.  The award, a collaboration between the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (OIAAA), recognizes schools that provide exemplary support and promotion of education-based athletic programming in their school and community.

Leadership Summit Project

Teams of 8th and 9th grade students from seven Columbiana County school districts shared results from the community service projects they designed and implemented during the Columbiana County Youth Leadership Brunch, held Thursday, April 7, at the Salem The event recognized the efforts of 60 students, who began their community projects in October after attending the Youth Leadership Summit at the Kent State University Salem Campus. The student teams were challenged to develop and implement service projects that address their community’s specific needs.

The 2014-15 high school yearbooks have arrived and are ready for pickup. All present high school students can pick their yearbooks up in Mrs. Cappuzzello's room after school. All graduating seniors from the class of 2015 may pickup their yearbooks in the main office.

April 10, 2015 (LISBON, Ohio) -- Teams of 8th and 9th grade students from six Columbiana County school districts shared information about the community service projects they designed and implemented during the Columbiana County Youth Leadership Brunch, held Thursday, April 9, at the Salem Golf Club.

CCCTC Sophomore Information Night

The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center is having its annual Sophomore Information Night Thursday, March 12 from 5-7 p.m.  This is an opportunity for students and their parents to meet instructors and tour the career and technical labs at CCCTC.

Students will also have the opportunity to complete the online application if they have not doen so yet.  All students who have applied and submitted a signature page by April 1, 2015, will be entered into a drawing to win one of two Samsung Chrome Books.

There will be 3 door prize winners drawn at 6:45 pm and at 6:50 pm we will pull two winners who will each win an iPad Mini tablet.

Lisbon Schools have offered Adult Computer Classes in previous years as a service to the community. Classes could be scheduled this year if the interest is there.
